Choir asembly 2004
facts: 30th April - 2nd May 2004, "Kučišdorfská" Valley (Kucisfdorf Valley)
comments:
This choir assembly was carried in the spirit of preparations for our first independent CD completion and for international competition in Ceske Pardubice (Czech Republic - translator note). However, right from the beginning we were in a "hockey" mood. After initial problems with tunning the right channel and projector we all sat down in front of a large screen projection in a local pub and indulged ourselves in hockey madness. Our "boys" played in the World Championship with Russia and won 2:0!!! Celebrations of this victory stretched by midnight, when, for a change, we celebrated Slovakia joining the European Union 
by singing the Slovak Anthem on a terrace of our "hotel". By the way, "hotel": in this facility workers from a nearby construction site are living during a week. Some singers stayed in rooms where workers had all their belongings. In some rooms there were workers themselves 
!
The next day though, was fully devoted to singing. Sunday rehearsal tested our new stage positioning. We tried a "zigzag" system - positioning where 2 singers of the same voice group couldn't stand next to each other. Andrej (the choir conductor - translator note) was finally not conducting individual voices, but the choir.
| At the end of our assembly we temporarily said goodbye to our vocal educationist/ trainer Darina Tothova, who is starting to concentrate on her future role of a mother. We believe that she will be as good a mother as she was a singer and vocal trainer. Good luck, Darinka! |  |
